TWITTER
Sure, the name may sound goofy, but Twitter has become an excellent way for businesses to get in touch with potential clients and to get their message out there! Twitter is very simpleallowing a maximum of 140 characters per post, and therefore focuses all attention upon your message, whatever you’re trying to get across regarding your business. You can post text, or links to images or other websites. What makes Twitter attractive to businesses is the searchability of the site. It’s easy to find individuals with interest in your product and you can connect with them on a more personal level, without taking up too much of your time. It’s also an excellent place to get answers to questions, see what’s being said about certain products, and the amount of traffic alone guarantees that your message is being seen.
An excellent way to use Twitter, for instance, would be to post a survey to your Twitter ‘followers.’ There may be related to a tough business decision that can’t be agreed upon internally or maybe you don’t know what upcoming product to focus on first. You could throw the question directly to your clients. This not only gives you an answer straight from the horse’s mouth, but also makes your clients or potential clients feel like they have a bond to your company. One example of this was a client who is a local performance theater. We posted a survey inviting followers to select which 5 of 10 performers they would like to see in the coming year. The results greatly dictated the show schedule.
