FACEBOOK

Everyone has heard of Facebook, whether they use it or not. At last count, their membership was over 400 million active users. They have also recently introduced a business section to their site to help connect companies to their current clients or prospects. With Facebook, you are able to post events, messages, promotions or links to your ‘fan’ base, i.e. your clients and prospects. There is also a section for photos, in case you want to post images from your design, construction, or remodeling company. Another interesting aspect to Facebook is that it creates the ability for your clients to easily interact and exchange ideas with you and one another. Typically these interactions increase interest in the product and encourage everyone to become more involved in supporting your business!

One of the best ways to use Facebook for businesses is to create events on it. These can be small promotions in individual stores or major campaign announcements or conference news. When you create an event, it creates an invitee list and allows users to RSVP. For instance, if your company is having a 20% off sale over the weekend, you could create a detailed event with enticing images and information and then actually know the clients that are planning on coming by to take advantage if your deals. We recently did a successful contest for a client, who received hundreds of inquiries—and captured hundreds of email addresses—within a few days.
