On October 5, 2008, the Induction Ceremony took place for the 65 mem-bers and nine foreign associates who were elected to the National Academy of Engineering (NAE) in February. Geocomp president & CEO, W. Allen Marr, was among the distinguished group to receive this special honor.

Geocomp recently hosted two members from Malaysia’s Research Centre for Soft Soils (RECESS): Dr. Chee-Ming Chan, and Mdm. Zaihastra Abu Talib of the Faculty of Civil & Environmental Engineering, University Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia.
“This visit gave us an opportunity to forge stronger ties with Malaysian research centers to advance expertise in handling soft soil problems,” stated Dr. Hankour, vice president and director of Geocomp’s Lab Systems Division.
Accompanied by Geocomp’s Malaysia agent, Mr. Chew Fu, the researchers toured the company’s Massachusetts design, manufacturing and testing facilities, and were briefed on the latest equipment, and hardware/software updates.
